My Journey: From Fine Arts to Special Effects and Casting Coordination

In the vibrant world of the arts, my journey has been a tapestry woven with threads of creativity, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. From my humble beginnings as a student of Fine Arts at Lasalle College of the Arts to my current endeavors as a makeup artist specializing in special effects and casting coordination, every step of my journey has been a testament to the power of embracing diverse passions and talents.

My educational foundation in Fine Arts provided me with a deep appreciation for form, texture, and expression. Through sculpting, I learned to see the world through a different lens, honing my skills and nurturing my artistic sensibilities. It was during this time that I realized the transformative power of art and its ability to evoke emotion and spark dialogue.

However, my journey didn't end with my diploma. Fueled by a passion for makeup artistry, I pursued a Diploma in Make-Up Artistry from CosmoProf Academy. This decision opened doors to new opportunities and avenues for expression, allowing me to explore the intersection of art and beauty in exciting new ways.

One of the highlights of my journey was being awarded the prestigious CosmoProf Makeup Artist Award in 2018 for my work in SFX makeup and body art. It was a validation of years of hard work and dedication, and a reminder that dreams do come true when passion meets perseverance.

But my journey took an unexpected turn when I discovered the world of casting coordination. Drawing on my background in the arts and makeup artistry, I found myself uniquely equipped to excel in this dynamic field. From leading casting and audition processes for major brands to scouting and auditioning actors for promotional content and creative projects, I embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and determination.

Throughout my journey, I've had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from the Nutcracker Ballet in Singapore to locally produced short films. My expertise in special effects makeup has allowed me to bring creative visions to life on screen, earning recognition and acclaim among peers and audiences alike.

Behind the scenes, I've played a pivotal role in the production of theatrical performances, contributing to the success of highly engaging and professional shows. From makeup and hairstyling to prop management and production, I've embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and determination.

And it's not just about the glamour of events like Singapore Fashion Week; it's about the hard work and dedication that goes on behind the scenes. From problem-solving to teamwork, I've navigated the fast-paced world of backstage production with poise and professionalism.

As I continue on this journey of creativity and innovation, I'm excited to see where the road ahead will take me.
